Inlays & Onlays

Inlays & Onlays

Dental inlays and onlays are an alternative to fillings, replacing larger parts of the tooth that have become damaged due to decay, wear and more. They are stronger and can last longer than fillings, and are usually added to the biting surfaces of the back teeth.

What are Inlays and Onlays made of?

Inlays and onlays are made specifically for you, in a laboratory. You have an
option of gold, composite and porcelain.

Where and how are they attached?

Inlays and Onlays target the back teeth, providing extra support for molars
that have become damaged. They are fitted within the corners of the natural tooth or bonded over the tooth corners.

Do I need Inlays or Onlays?

If your back teeth have become damaged accidentally, or due to decay or
wear, then inlays and onlays may work for you. Why not visit the practice for a routine examination and your dentist will better advise on the treatment that you require.
